Bribie Island is located halfway between Brisbane and The Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. The island is a sand island approximately 30km long and 5km wide at its widest point. 80% of the island either National Park or state forest. It is Queensland's only offshore island linked by bridge and is separated from the mainland by Pumicestone Passage, a stunningly beautiful passage of water that is home to more than 350 species of birdlife, dugongs, turtles and dolphins It also provides excellent fishing, and boating. Distance from Brisbane (state capital): 70 kilometres.
You can drive to the Brisbane CBD and Brisbane International airport, in an hour and to the northern suburbs of Chermside, Aspley and Redcliffe in much less. The Sunshine Coast is also easy to drive to with Noosa being approximately an hour away and Caloundra being about 45 minutes drive to the North. Bribie Island is part of the Caboolture Shire which is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia in terms of population.
